lies or the truth?
Do you always tell the truth?

Or are there things you lie about?

Are there situations where you think a lie is more ethical than the truth?

And what is "truth" anyways?

RE: lies or the truth?
I try to be honest mostly. Lie if I need to - I'm pretty basic like that. Mostly try to avoid lying simply because I'm not good at it. Get caught too easy.

Ethics - nah, I don't make rigid ethical rules. Whatever feels right at the time.

And truth is ... an undefined term.

I lie less than I used to. I tend to speak my mind or keep my mouth shut.

But I will tell social lies; sometimes that's just good manners.
"You're looking well." (OMG, you like you've aged 50 years.)
"Wonderful meal." (My dog eats better than this.)
"Great haircut." (Did you use an egg beater?)

Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.

Well, some truth is irrefutable. If it's raining, it's raining.

RE: lies or the truth?
Noone can always tell the truth.
When someone you barely know (at work or so) asks you "how are you?" they don't wanna know so you are like "fine" and that's probably a lie but who cares in that situation, really? It is just socially correct to say "hi, how are you?" when you meet someone you've seen before. Especially at work or in an apartment block.

I usually tell the truth but there where some emergency lies, as I call them. And I think emergency lies are ok.
For me it was simply to keep the peace in the shared living until I left.

But imagine this: A crying girl knocks at your door, screaming. You let her in and you see that she has been beaten. You call the police but while you are waiting a guy comes to your door and asks if you saw a girl running around here. And you say "no". That is a lie but it is an emergency so it is good to tell this lie!

But in normal day to day life I am not lieing, and no, not even on the internet. Because even on the internet, I know that the person reading this is also real and I hope for the person to be truthfull as well.
If someone asks me about something, I will answer honestly. And if I don't want to I am not lieing, I just say "that's none of your business" instead of lieing.

I lie all the time. For fun. For gain. For revenge. To further my evil agenda. Sometimes even just because I feel like it.

Shit, I'm actually a lesbian accountant living in downtown Tokyo.

Just visiting.
