my wife's doctor called
The mri scan apparently shows a brain tumor.

I am really sorry to hear this. Any other news about it? My wife has a friend who had a seizure and from that they found a brain tumor. The X-ray look scary to my untrained eye, but they were able to treat her and she is fine now. I hope this will be the case with your wife.

^^^ Yup. These things are treatable ... no need to panic yet.

How is your wife coping with the news?

RE: my wife's doctor called
Agree on the potential for treatability:
What's most important is the type of tumour, its location and whether its malignant or benign.

My cousin's son was diagnosed with a brain tumour as a child, was operated upon, and recovered completely.
The benign tumour returned 12 years later, was again operated on, and he recovered completely again (he's in vocational school now).

I also know of two women whose brain tumours were operated on when they were in their 60s; both recovered completely and went on to live at least 20 more years (one still going strong at 85).

It's definitely scary, but not hopeless
