RE: space station and religion
I recalled reading about this on The Friendly Atheist a few months ago, so I looked up the article. Sure enough, "On International Space Station, Photos of Russian Space Pioneers Are Replaced With Religious Icons and Crucifixes"
Quite sad really. Photos of the men and women who contributed much to humanity's knowledge of space and space travel, replaced with symbols and imagery from an organization that breeds ignorance and bigotry.

Think of it this way:
They probably won't take all that crap back to Earth with them, and it will get burned to a crisp when the ISS de-orbits. Muahaha

If we came from dust, then why is there still dust?

I guess it's an extension of the sailor's superstitions.......

When your ass can die in any number of ways at any time - some people find it easier to "believe" in something......

Not that it'll do you a damned bit of good...

They need a bumper sticker.

And probably better insurance. God is known for crashing a few things because it was the persons "time".

This made me wonder...I don’t think I ever saw a religious icon on any Star Trek episode or movie.

I could be wrong, but I think they had a reference to Christmas once. Can't remember which episode it was though.
