RE: [split] Ask a Theist! The Word's contribution to the sum of human knowledge
You want an argument.
You want me to persuade you that reason, critical thinking, and basing your beliefs upon evidence is better than basing your beliefs on nothing.

When you justify your beliefs you can move forward knowing that the ground ahead of you is solid.
As I walk, my eyes are open, observing the ground in front of me.
With my eyes closed, I can walk forward with the faith that the ground in front of me is solid.

With eyes open, I can stop moving for any number of reasons.
1. There is a street coming up and cars are driving there. I could get hit.
2. There is a cliff up ahead. I stop moving based on what I observe.
3. Many wolf tracks are on the ground. I should seek a safer place to go hiking.

Basing my beliefs on evidence is safer than blindly walking around believing you are always on solid, safe foundations.

How do you justify your beliefs ?

Insanity - doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results

We argue reason /quote]
Just in case you missed my posts a bunch of pages ago, if you are arguing reason, then why isn't atheism more popular today? Diagoras was the first atheist in 5 BC, if his argument displayed so much "reason", then why isn't he more popular than Jesus?
Remember, we are talking "reason" here. If atheism has so much "reason" then why can't it deliver any proof?

By faith young man. This is the only way to justify one's beliefs.

You're thinking is backwards. Do you believe in unicorns? Leprechauns? Forest sprites? Bigfoot? Werewolves? Where's your proof?

Great side-step and a beauty! You have no proof.

What exactly do you want proof of?

Of couse there's no proof.
Wordy, when you get old enough to go to school they will have you take a Logic class. In that class, (even in Logic For Exceptional Children), they will teach you, that no one can prove a negative. Meanwhile, you'll have to trust the adults.

Jeff, I am not asking for proof because I know you don't have any. I just think that it is ignorant and hypocritical for atheist to be constantly demanding proof, when they have none themselves.
