The last story was included for a reason.

There is a backyard climate scientist in Canada. I do not think he has ever received a thank you note from the Filippenkos of climate science.

My father could have been another nosy, backyard climate scientist despised not only by the climate specialists, but by the entire science community. Screw his background.

See how everything is related?

God, the electrical engineer crossing over to climate science. It would have been such an easy thing to do. But, think of all the gnashing teeth from mainstream science.

Jesus. Now we are bringing engineers into science? This is getting way too messy. It was so nice when we could put climate guys into a nice bubble, isolated from the rest of Mankind.

I see how you relate them, and that's all I needed to know.

At work.

Hello Walter. Thumbsup

Could you, perchance, outline to a layman like myself as to;

'What is a climate scientist' ?

Cheers.

It seems like Walter doesn't see a distinction between disciplines, and that since he is under the impression they must use the same method of parsing data as he appears to be using, that they don't know what they're talking about.

Congratulations. That is really impressive. I know a Type 2 outside my family who obtained the same results by quitting sugar and white flour. But I do remember my Type 2 brother-in-law, come dessert time, pulling out his Lilly vial and syringe. It is exactly what the Type 1 does today on the recommendation of the American Diabetes Association and his endocrinologist. Thank Jesus for modern science.

You chose, like millions of other diabetics, to ignore that Association. Like you, I also ignore them, but for different reasons. There are many diabetics who give science a big middle finger and do the exact opposite of what that Association and their endocrinologists recommend. Can you see the humor in all those middle fingers directed toward our great science community? Come on. Just a little?

Well, come to think of it, there is really nothing humorous about the millions of other diabetics, without middle fingers, who trust American science, the Diabetes Association and the American Medical Association. And we never want to forget the National Academy of Sciences.

It is fascinating that we love to go back thousands of years, read old manuscripts from some sand dwellers and then write thousands of essays on why these manuscripts are not relevant to the modern world. We then go back to the 17th Century and write about how a guy looking up at the stars was corrupted (well, almost) by a State supported religion.

However, we cannot, we will not, go back to the 20th Century and write about how science was corrupted by some little, insignificant political body sitting in Washington DC. We are not going to do it. It is ancient history (really ancient) that has nothing whatsoever to do with science in today’s world. We deal with real science. You know, the kind done on personal computers (OK, super ones). There is no connection to the pretend science of the 50s, 60s and 70s.

The fact that the corruption is still ongoing is irrelevant. We are talking about humans warming the planet, not some meaningless crap about them fearing something which politicians in a galaxy far far away thought would be really neat to fear. This is much bigger. Today, we have no need for crossed fingers and prayer. We have 25,000 peer reviewed papers. Well, they do to, but ours are real papers, about real science.

Think about nutrition, with hundreds of enzymes and hormones, cell membrane transport systems, micronutrients in the blood, complex metabolic cycles, the hunger-brain system, on and on in a very complex array of feedback systems. Hundreds and hundreds of variables. Jesus! It makes the climate system look elementary.

Oh, wait. That elementary nature is exactly why we can predict not only the future of the planet’s climate but the extent that that climate will be influenced by just a single variable. A mammalian species living on the surface. Now, that is something.

OK. I think I am starting to get it. I can feel myself coming around.

You clearly have no idea that metformin is used not only to control glucose in diabetics but also has clinical evidence supporting its use as an anti-aging, longevity-promoting drug. Feel free to congratulate yourself for not realizing that there is no way chemically for quitting sugar and white flour to have the same metabolic action as metformin. I don't think you know dick about nutrition. Tell me which plants have anti-aromatase properties equal to the Tamoxifen used by breast-cancer patients. You have no fucking clue what any of them big words even mean, let alone what they mean in the context of exogenously manipulating my own metabolic processes for my benefit through nutritional supplementation. You don't have enough knowledge to even pretend to be someone knowing anything about nutrition. Just another blow-hard, uncredentialed, self-described expert in something you clearly know dick about.

There is only one really serious philosophical question, and that is suicide. -Camus

I'm sorry Walter, but are you sure you understand what the rest of us are debating on this thread? Or are you slightly intellectually challenged?

You seem to be living in some kind of internalised fantasy world. You're obviously not a scientist of any sort, and even more obviously not a science teacher—as your understanding [sic ] of science appears minimal at best. Other than repeatedly regurgitating quaint and irrelevant tales about your own alleged life experiences, or rambling on about long-invalidated scientific theories, you seem not to understand even the basics of debating a given topic.
