why do most sites only give the abstract and are the full versions so damn expensice just to have access to it?

Because the papers are published mainly by commercial publishers and they want to make a profit.
Censored the commercial publishers

Various reasons:
--I have some subscriptions
--I use the reference libraries of the university I graduated from (as an alumnus I also have limited borrowing privileges)
--Sometimes I correspond with the authors and they send me an electronic copy of their paper
--Sometimes the paper can be found online at the authors personal homepage
--Sometimes the paper has been (illegally) uploaded
hmmm, i can use the last 3 options...
Thanks man Thumbsup

That. Use scholar.google.com instead and you can often find it somewhere. Also some more hints from pubmed. But truth be told if it's outside of my field (comp sci) I rarely try to read more than the abstract, discussion and conclusion 'cause I figure someone else has already checked their methodology and I haven't been trained to understand it properly anyway.

As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.

She didn't say in her account that "an officer" told her. Did you even read what she wrote?

So she goes missing sometime on Sunday (an officer saw her alive on Sunday). 96 hours later (4 DAYS later), on Thursday, she dies. Which is far less than 32 hours before she was found Friday morning.

Don't play the typo game with me. It adds nothing to the conversation.

I'll do as I please.

Quote: An officer didn't see her on Sunday.

The mother says differently in her blog. Why should I believe you, when you have already shitcanned science in favor of your magical thinking.

Quote: She was at a drug house

And what exactly is a "drug house", in your view? You drink, and alcohol is a drug. Yours is a drug house.

Quote: and the only people to see her were those who were there and the truckers she was flashing on the side of the road.

Flashing? That doesn't comport with the mother's description of events.

Quote: She died soon after that and was found on a Friday morning, at 10:32 am, according to the official SAR report.

96 hours -- FOUR DAYS -- after she was reported missing (which also fits the mother's report), which is what YOU said was on the ME's report -- is NOT "soon after".

Quote:Again, you have no idea what you are talking about.

Says the one who wants to discard science and evidence in order to back her hysterical magical bullshit claim.

You admit that you use alcohol (A DRUG) recreationally.

You rag on people who use ANY OTHER DRUG recreationally IN ANY QUANTITIES.

You claim to condone medicinal use, but in practice you lump medicinal users in with heavy constant users.

You attempt to Special-Plead your drug use by quibbling about quantities.

Hypocrite.

* [you are a] hypocrite. Hypocrite isn't a sentence all on its own.

Further, I never lumped medicinal drug users into any category, nor did I mention "any quantities" qualifies you as a habitual recreational user. And I already admitted that I'm an occasional drug user. My only beef was with habitual (alcoholics, drug addicts, etc)

Yes, you did. You made a shitload of slurs toward me and some at UGP's boyfriend. Only when you were called out on it did you attempt to divert and deflect by offering up the straw man of "habitual" users, which fooled no one.

Quote:Your hysterical defensiveness is really perplexing...

Tu Cuoque. Anyone reading this thread can see your gymnastics for themselves.

Quote:Its a fact that every drug addict I have ever known is a loser.

I presume you include yourself and your grandmother in that group. And no, that is not a fact; that is your opinion.

Quote:Its a fact that drugs were the primary contributor to tip that first domino for those people I have known.

You don't know that. That is not a fact; that is your opinion.

Quote: Or for a few people that I was involved with but did not know (i.e., bath salts girl).

You do not know that. That is not a fact; that is your opinion.

And that woman had a name: Melissa Sherry Sequel. I find it contemptible that you (who claim to have found her body) would say such a thing. I once found the body of a man who had made a serious and presumably obvious mistake that cost him his life. I have never, ever spoken ill of him.

Quote: It's a fact that some drug use, even on off hours, puts a risk to my business,

That is not a fact; that is your opinion.

Quote:
These are my facts. My reality. [quote]

Neither facts nor reality.

[quote] When I said, "potheads are losers," everyone just simply left out the beginning of the paragraph where I stated, "in my opinion..."

You made your statement in the context of attacking an MS patient for his use of cannabis. THAT is a FACT.

No, I admitted I was overly emotional about it and illogical but Taq LIVES to be outraged.
