We're so self aware, that we can even identify and admit, and even ignore by sheer will power, our own instincts. That's very unique. That's why culture is a big deal and why I think we need to start question our current ones. It's time to evolve them. They're clearly not working out.

That was rather my point -- that the problem is with the people who compose the culture.

I didn't, I was just interested in your opinion.

Well, in that case: no, a shotgun or two is sufficient. In fact, a shotgun is probably the single most versatile firearm.
Short barrel for slugs for deer/bear/moose or for anti-personnel buckshot; long barrel for goose, turkey, trap; medium length for pheasant, grouse, ducks,...

The only machine guns that are legal to own are ones manufactured before May 19th, 1986 except for police, military, and federally-licensed dealers.

Well given the urgency and dire straits that DarkHelmet is warning of it's money well spent. ... dunno how I can afford the ammo though. Hey, don't you load your own?

I load my own shotgun shells, not pistol/rifle ammo.

I don't think NRA people are saying that you can't; they are saying that it is difficult and expensive, so automatic weapon ownership/possession is not at all common.

I would consider new gun laws if they were this:

Quote:This morning it’s fifty dead. Fifty. Fifty. Fifty
dead, killed by a single shooter armed with a
military grade assault rifle…

What?

What’s that?

Oh, you want to argue about the term “assault
weapon” do you? Don’t you NRA assholes ever
get tired of being so reflexively predictable?
Look here, fifty dead, killed by a single gunman
in a few minutes, that isn’t the kind of weapon
used for “hunting” or “home defense” – unless
you live in Somalia. That’s an assault weapon.
I spent my entire life in the military under
arms, I know a goddamned assault weapon
when I see one. So you NRA assholes sit the
fuck down and shut the fuck up. This is on you,
you terrorist enabling sons of bitches, this is all
on you.

Here we are, America. Here we are yet again.
Bang, Bang, Bang.

Jim Wright gets it right. Every. Single. Time.

Except that he's wrong. The 2nd amendment has nothing to do with hunting, or just home defense.

The 2nd amendment is there to defend against assholes like Jim Wright that think weapons are only for the military.

uhhhhhh .... okay? ...... shouldn't it be difficult and expensive? ... why do they want it to be commonplace? ... I mean I don't think my 75yo mum walking around using an M-16 as a cane or crutch is good for anybody.

I can only hope you posted this disingenuous comment as a joke. I'm sure you wouldn't be silly enough to actually believe such a nonsensical comparison.

Quote:I don't hear you harping about "The Big Three" making huge profits out of American's deaths.
Oh dear. See above.

Quote:You don't like guns.......
Fine...
DON'T BUY ONE....
problem solved....
So if Brian—and other anti-gun folks—don't buy any guns, then that magically stops armed psychopaths killing dozens of innocent people? Yeah... that sure makes sense. Not.
It's almost unbelievable some of the arguments some people make.
"You don't like guns.......
Fine...
DON'T BUY ONE...."
Just shows that onlinebiker either has no understanding whatsoever about why people think guns are dangerous in society or he is just so far gone down that "2nd amendment" route that he is completely unwilling to see any problems.

I expect the guy won't even travel overseas because he can't carry his guns with him.

Can't find the word abortion in the Constitution. I just searched the entire thing with a search engine but no results.

However I can find the word "arms" followed by the words "shall not be infringed."

Are you trying to pick a fight, GM? You keep imputing meanings to what I say.
I have answered your questions with facts, not opinions. I have not attacked or defended anyone or anyone's position.

If you would like my opinion on this then ask.
