[split] LGBT+ Jesus
Sorry to butt in, but if it's any comfort, Jesus never said a single word about GLBT's one way or the other, not a single word, so maybe it wasn't a big issue with him?

RE: LGBT+ leaving religion & general support
You are correct. I think the big religious issue with LGBT is when one person decides that another person's love life and romantic preference is their business, which it isn't, big surprise lol. Yes there are hundrets of rules about sexuality in the bible / koran / etc. But I think that if somebody doesn't believe it or doesn't want to follow it, then that is their decision and should be accepted as such.

He didn't need to because his entire ministry was to Jews who knew and believed what the Old Testament said about the subject. The apostle Paul needed to speak of the subject because he worked among gentiles who didn't know God.

The information in ancient libraries came from real minds of real people. The far more complex information in cells came from the far more intelligent mind of God.

It's very likely that "he" didn't say a single word about anything. You need to exist to do that, you know.

To a christian it doesn't matter if Jesus existed. Only thing that matters is "the bible says" so they pick whatever fits their agenda from this ancient book. So they also pick things that might be interpreted as anti LGBT.

And it's not like there aren't such things.

Luckily (or not), as Joseph Campbell said, "there are as many gods as there are people thinking about God. When Mrs. Mulligan and the Pope are thinking about God, it is not the same God. In choosing your god, you choose your way of looking at the universe. There are plenty of Gods. Choose yours. The god you worship is the god you deserve."

Luckily, because as society evolves, so do the gods its members choose to worship. We mould them to fit *our* morality, not the other way around.

Of course, some evolve more slowly than others.

Hey, did you check out that book I suggested by Pliny?

Thanks, but the entire population of Israel plus the Roman garrison saw JC, that's a lot of eyeballs..Smile

PS- another bit of comfort for gays is that God only zapped Sodom/Gomorrah because they were the loud noisy depraved kind, going round hammering on peoples doors demanding the men be sent out.
Nobody minds decent friendly gays..Smile

This thread is not the place for it, but this was... well, something else indeed.

You might want to check this out and then maybe read some of the threads on that topic on TTA.

ETA: Why would any gay people on this forum find any comfort in that? Or even look for it there?
