This is also the cornerstone of wisdom. You can be incredibly book-smart, but that isn't going to get you anywhere if you don't apply that intelligence in service of reality and common sense. A smart person with a broken pipe can easily find Plumbing DIY sites on the Internet. A wise person can determine whether it's worth attempting a fix, or cheaper in terms of time, money and effort to call a professional and get it done.

And somewhere in the interface between those two positions, ego gets to have a say. Intelligence + Ego says "I can do this myself. I don't need help." Wisdom says "It's Sunday night, the hardware store is closed, I have to be up for work at 6:00, and we have house guests flying in tomorrow evening," and dials the plumber.

Even someone with "book smart" with no experience or "street smarts" would show more self awareness when they communicate. It's kinda a hallmark of intellect.

Are you sure it's not a hallmark of intuition?

He doesn't believe half of the shit he spouts, his very username says troll. He can't be any clearer about his intentions (well, I guess he could if his username was "troll").

And how do I deduce the Angry Manboy is a "he" you might reasonably ask, very few women act like an angry manboy, that's how I know.

Sorry, are you talking to me?
This thread is titled 'LGBT + Jesus' so I was simply pointing out that if you want to make so-called "christians" squirm the next time they try to bully GLBT's, ask them to show you in the Bible where Jesus says anything about GLBT's and they won't be able to because he never said a word about GLBT's one way or the other, not a single word!..Smile

You posted your vomit in a support thread and it was not about making Xtians squirm (unlike religionists who insist on telling us how wrong and depraved we are, my life is too short to waste on the deluded, they can believe whatever the fuck they want).

Now kindly piss off again. Your crap is not welcome here, go peddle it some place else.

So who am I supposed to listen to? God who said to kill gay people or Jesus who......didn't say anything about the subject so I guess he was cool about what God said?? And arn't they the same entity anyway? And isn't that entity supposed to be unchanging?

Colour me cunfuzled.

I don’t think lgbt issues were on the radar of concerns when it came to the Jews at the time, so it’s not surprising that on the short list of things Jesus spoke against, homosexuality etc.. didn’t even warrant a foot note.

Jesus pretty much avoided criticizing Roman culture and practices as well, or admonishing the practices of those outside of his religious community.

"Tell me, muse, of the storyteller who has been thrust to the edge of the world, both an infant and an ancient, and through him reveal everyman." ---Homer the aged poet.

"In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it."
