Not so I think Sauron is cruel and he is just a fictional character. Same goes for Sinestro, Red Skull and many other antagonists in literature. A character may posses the attributes given only in the fiction it is contained in but it can still be described by those characteristics. Voldemort is an evil wizard. This statement it true even though we both know (at least I hope we both know) that Harry Potter is a fictional book and there is no such person living or dead.

Does this mean that you reject the god of the scriptures? If it does not then you are just cherry picking the bible and that, my friend, is dishonest.

It's a nice sentiment. Been around for longer than the bible has, so it's a bit unoriginal.
Yes I would agree that it was around before the bible, but if God is God so has He been around before the bible.

I've been through this before, the Old Testament laws you are referring to were ordained by angels under a false image of god. Please see the Christs judgment on the adulteress which the laws demanded she be stoned to death.

Hahaha

I love your uncanny ability to spin everything into your conclusion.

You see in logic 1 + 2 = 3 or premise + premise = conclusion.

You are not suppose to start with a conclusion and then find things to support it. You are supposed to follow each set of premises to their conclusions. Not change the premises to suit your own conclusion.

If you say so...

But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

You know you left me guessing what you are refering to when you use the words premise and conclusion. How can I respond adequately?

You would be more accurate equating these to Satan, not God.

I reject the false image of god sold to mankind in the garden of Eden which scripture also tells of. As for cherry picking the bible, I had a theology professor say I was being dishonest for claiming some of the bible true and other parts I was unsure about. He said it was either all true or it all wasn't. I told him that as God as my witness, I don't even understand all of the bible nor all of the meanings therein, it would be dishonest of me to say that I know it is all true. He then humbly made some concessions questioning his own conviction.

When you are describing a feeling. Lets say love, it comes from a mind. No minds exists no love exists.

The universe has existed for about 13.9 billion years with out minds to conceive of love. Therefore your god didn't exist until minds that could experience love existed.
But we know that time itself is a part of the universe. We also know that Light existed before minds could experience Light.
