No. It's called an "umbilical hernia". Not uncommon. If they don't get it fixed, it will become strangulated, and cause a bowel obstruction.

Lol -- yeah it's tough when you spend most of your adult life associating the phrase "turn of the century" with the year 1900, to suddenly have to say "turn of the prior century" or "turn of the 20th century" or "oh screw it, around 1900". I'm still not quite over it, 17 years on.
