Nobody ever stops trying to figure things out.
But when theists say that they are generally speaking about belief in their particular religion.
They presuppose that their belief is right and ignore all others.

To me, once I started studying various religions , it became same shit different colour. Disbelief in the god claim came later.
If a religion is correct, it should be self evident without promises of eternal joy in some utopia or worse threats of eternal damnation and pain.

Every religion does that but it seems to me that none of the religions realize that the others are doing the same thing in order to sway you.

If every channel of your TV showed the same episode of Peewee's Playhouse 24/7 but just in different languages, why the fuck would you turn the damned thing on in the first place? oops got carried awayLaughat.

I get very suspicious when someone offers a 'great deal' to get me to do something. If they have to offer a 'great deal' then as people so often say:
If it is too good to be true, it probably is.

Conversely I get angry that threats are used to try to convince me. That is NO different from a bully demanding your lunch money.

An idea must really really SUCK if the proponents of the idea use both arguments in order to sway you. Jesus will save you and what if you are wrong?
I ain't biting.

There may or may not be a god, I just don't know. That is my agnostic part of me.
But the evidence presented to me that whose ever god is real, doesn't convince me therefore I do not believe their god claims.
