1. what would you do.
2., what would society do
3. what would that even mean.
First I think a vast majority of religious people would deny it. They would try kicking down the neuroscience classroom doors and demand educators to "teach the controversy."
1. I don't think I would do anything. I already suspect free will is an illusion.
2. I don't really know.
3. Perhaps it would mean that we need to find a way to actually rehabilitate criminals rather than seeking vengeance for their crimes. Beyond that I haven't a clue.

I already don't believe in "free will".

Sorry...

But as if to knock me down, reality came around
And without so much as a mere touch, cut me into little pieces

Why is why the coherent philosophical definitions always amount to "free will isn't free".

Because we certainly have will. But as for the "free" part...

... this is my signature!

i don't understand how some one can not believe in free will.... unless you say that ots a half way kind of thing but then I've never studied the subject

edit:not believing in free will is paramount to believing in a mystical thing like destiny.... lol

2. one should fear sweet a blood stained flower.

I'd prob go jump off a bridge. But I wouldn't willingly and freely do it. I'd prob even put up a bit of a fight... well in my head maybe. But I'd lose, and over I'd go.

Sad Sad.

I'm consigned by so many different things...

I can make some choices...but even those are often driven by how I "feel" at a given moment.

If I'm walking through a dimly lit parking lot late at night alone, I get the sensation of fear. That's evolution.

My gender makes me vulnerable, and that directly reflects how I react or don't react. Things I might think are choices are actually preferences that I'm actually "programmed" to want, either through evolutionary experiences, or by behaviors that are acquired through experience.

I'm restricted by laws...By society...my family...

I'm restricted by genetics.

Free will is a happy myth -- to make it seem we have choices or an active hand in who we are (individually).

Umm, sorry to have to break it to you.
It's already been debunked.

just a weird thought but without free will.. doesn't that means there would be no morales to judge people by

edit: because don't morales require objectivity... just cyurious
