Earwax stops things from entering the ear and causing damage. Insects would get stuck in this earwax, left for dead. For an egg laying insect, a warm and easy to escape spot is what an insect would use.

It was fiction but creepy as hell.

Episode of "Night Gallery" gave me nightmares for years.

And next time, ER, please. Smile

Go to the doctor!

Geeze.

They can look pretty far into the ear and extract it. This isn't an uncommon event. Keep calm and keep us posted.

Maybe it was Night Gallery, now that you mention it. Creepy!

See here they are the bruises some were self-inflicted and some showed up along the way. - JF

My GP is closed and if I go to an "after hours" (which it is considered because it's a holiday today) it'd cost me $90. $50 if they accept my community card (which I get for being on the welfare, but I'm officially off that as of today so they probably wont).

I'm not paying $90 to the people that told me to use a fucking light to draw the bug out... They'd probably just wash it out with water anyway.

Actually, now that I think of it, there are ear wax cleaning products over the counter at the drug store. I used to use them with my kids when they were little and had painful ears. All it is is mineral oil and you put a few drops into your ear, tip your head so the mineral oil stays in your ear for a while then you tip your head the other way so the mineral oil drains out of your ear and maybe whatever is in your ear will slide out too. It might work for a bug stuck in your ear.

This would be much better for your ear than alcohol.

Seek out the Maori shaman. They will know what to do.
